The Tar Heels in Hawaii are looking for commitments from 8 volunteers to escort the Purple Heart float in the National Vietnam Veterans’ Day Parade in Honolulu on Saturday, 29 March 2025. The event’s opening ceremonies begin at 4:30 pm, and the parade starts at 6:00 pm, heading down Kalakaua Avenue to Kapi’olani Park. All our volunteers who participated in a similar service event for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in 2023 left energized and excited to recommend the experience to a friend. If folks are interested, we can grab a bite or drinks afterwards in Waikiki. Come see what the buzz is all about!

- We recommend using public transportation, arriving via a ride-share, or getting dropped off by a friend. Parking can be tough in Waikiki, and some spots may be available at the Hale Koa garage, which is not too pricey with a military ID and hotel validation ($10 for 3 hours). However, remember all the other parade participants and volunteers will be trying to park nearby as well, and the parade start and finish are in two different spots!
